Where & When?

Saturdays During Term Time in The Ballgreen Hall, Strathaven.

Juniors (primary 4 – primary 7)

10am – 12noon

Seniors (secondary 1 – secondary 6)

12noon – 2pm

Our Aims

Members will receive an extensive Music and Theatre Arts education in a safe and fun environment.

The academy will perform 2 productions a year which will take the form of a published or devised piece of theatre. Members are encouraged to sell at least 10 tickets for the performances.

We are also often invited to perform at local community events such as Strathaven Gala Day and The Round Table Christmas Lunch.

There are no additional charges for extra rehearsals and the academy will endeavour to refrain from further costs to parents whenever possible. This includes no extra charges for costumes etc.

Working with highly qualified and experienced staff, the emphasis will be on confidence building and the development of communication and performance skills.

The academy's directors hope that with adding music into the equation the academy will attract more children who may have been put off in the past by joining a youth theatre or drama club who usually only concentrate on workshops or dance without a final goal or an end product. Cadzow Academy firmly believe performance leads to building self confidence and a sense of achievement. Young people should Aim High!

We want to teach the students how to develop their voices and presentation skills when they are on stage and educate them into understanding what the audience will see and hear.

 

Enrolment Information

Membership runs for 12 months regardless of when the student joins.

Members are encouraged to wear comfortable and suitable clothing during workshops and rehearsals. Members are advised not to wear jewellery for health and safety reasons. Jogging trousers, jeans, T-shirts, soft shoes or trainers are recommended.

The Cadzow Academy of Music & Drama will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to a members property at any time.

  

                                     

Cadzow Academy Fees

Annual enrolment fee is £40 (due at time of enrolment) 50% discount for siblings. Members will be expected to attend 1 session per week at a cost of £7 per session (2 hours) for the duration of the year. 2 free sessions are permitted per year to allow for illness- all other weeks must be paid for in order to ensure the smooth running of the group, this also guarantees the members place. The academy will be term time only.
